So who is this guy?
This is probably a totally unnecessary page, all things considered. It seems likely that if you’re here, you already know me. On the other hand it seems equally likely that if you knew me you’d not bother to be here. So… is a conundrum.
The basics, then. I’m a middle-aged balding fat white guy with a penchant for photography and books. The closest thing I have to a day job is as a contract photographer for the Houston Chronicle’s Neighborhood Sections. It’s not exactly what I plan to spend the rest of my life on, but the demands on my time and attention are moderate, mostly, and the pay is sufficient to keep the doors open.
I’m hoping to move away from both Houston and newspaper photography in the reasonably near future; I hate the climate here and I’m realizing that newspaper photography, at least the type of fluff feature and very local stuff I’m doing for the Chron, doesn’t exactly make me happy.
As for the rest, read the blog. You’ll probably just wind up confused, but hey… why should YOU be exempt if I’m not?
